AVERAGE PAY IS ONLY $6.25/HR
The American Dream Is Just For Haoles
Granted, the average Hawaii resident is sub-literate. Granted, the work ethic is famously poor here. Granted, there are no real industries here, unless you count prostitution. But, still. People deserve a living wage. That would be three or four times the State minimum wage here.
Given the price of a studio apartment here, $700/month, and the old real estate formula of 1 months rent = 1 weeks pay, something is wrong here. $6.25/hr X 40 hrs = $250. That's gross, though, before taxes, etc. And it assumes a 40-hour week, which most shit jobs (all that's available here) don't give, to avoid having to pay full benefits.
Still, $250 a week pay... $700 a month rent? Bit of a DISCONNECT there, eh? Throw in utilities, and that leaves NOTHING for food. But hey, scumbag landlords gotta eat, too. And drive a Mercedes. Or a Lexus. And live in the hills. Gotta.
Assholes who actually work for a living, they don't gotta get shit, though, right? Fuck 'em, send 'em to Iraq. Repukelickins say let the market handle it. This is how the market handles it: Rents too high for prevailing wages, wages too low for prevailing rents. So, volunteer as cannon fodder. A Republican solution, not a democratic one. Fuck THEM!
No working person should ever go to war against another working person. Our enemies are above, not abroad. Democratic socialism is the only answer: Republican free-marketeering has utterly failed on housing, health care, education, employment, everything. Republicans are FAILURES. Sell that to your illiterate neighbours, before the next fixed election.
