BUSH KILLS MORE AMERICANS THAN BIN-LADEN

.
ANOTHER GRISLY ANNIVERSARY

U.S. Death Toll In Iraq Surpasses 3400

The fraudulent and inexcusable war in Iraq has now killed more Americans than died in the attacks of 9/11/2001. Those attacks were Bush's excuse for invading Iraq in the first place. No credible evidence has ever been produced that there was any connection between the former Iraqi regime of Saddam Hussein and the 2001 attacks on New York and Washington. No evidence of "weapons of mass destruction" has ever been produced, either. Are we safer, now, having invaded Iraq?

Quite the reverse. Bush has created a safe haven for Sunni and Shi'ite terrorists in the gaping hole where Iraq used to be. Into that hole have now fallen 3400 American soldiers, sailors, marines, airmen and women. From that hole, Islamic fundamentalist organizations that never attacked America, or never even existed before the war, are now preparing attacks on the "homeland." So much for "fighting them over there in Iraq so we don't have to fight them back here at home."

As to motivation for future attacks on America: Abu Graibh, Guantanamo, atrocities against Iraqi civilians by US troops, destruction of much of their country, civilian deaths approaching half a million, permanent occupation of their territories by US troops, theft of oil and other precious resources, disrespect and disregard for lawful cultural and religious practices, terrorizing and humiliation of women, the elderly and children, torture and unlawful killings of political opponents to the US-backed regime: Motivation aplenty, all seen live on Al-Jazeera and other non-US-censored media.

Ah, television. Remember the horrific images we were all subjected to on 9/11? Remember how that made us feel? Remember how those images, that horrible reality, made us support irrational and unjustifiable violence against innocent strangers? OK, now you know how many Arabs and other Muslims might feel. Ready for round three? Yes, Dubya, the so-called "War On Terror" will last a very very long time, as you have promised. As you have guaranteed.

Let's don't give anyone, any candidate for President of the United States a mandate to continue this blood-feud. End it now by negotiating a lasting peace throughout the Middle East, beginning with Israel. Until we do that, there will never be peace, security, or freedom for anyone.

Step one should be to break up and nationalize the big oil companies, as criminal enterprises, under the RICO Act. They helped engineer WWI, WWII, Vietnam and now two Gulf Wars, working both ends against the middle, resulting in the death of millions, purely for their own oil profits. Until we can get off oil once and for all, we must control it. Or it will continue to control us. No more blood for oil, ever. Let one candidate show the courage to espouse that, and everyone ought to vote for him, or her.

If we don't fight them over there, we'll have to fight them over here.

It's still a democracy, sort of... If only people participated instead of acting like helpless, cap-doffing peasants.

If we can take private property to build a shopping mall, why can't we take something people REALLY need?

Anyway, the Arabs did it in their countries. That's why we're fighting them, really. We could end the war by doing what they did, on our end of the pipeline.

If we don't, we'll go down in history as the generation that let democracy die in the world, in favor of corporatism.

I've thought that, too. I wonder how many people actually think about it? I guess American Idol is more important.
