GOOD FRIDAY
GREAT FRIDAY, HOLY FRIDAY, THANK GOD IT'S FRIDAY
THE FIRST WEEKEND IN HISTORY
It Began With An Execution And Ended With A Resurrection, People Say
The fear in the air was palpable. No one knew what was going to happen next. Everyone expected the worst. One thing after another had been going wrong for many years, and each bit of news seemed worse than the last. There was no end in sight, and many were giving in to despair. Praying for a miracle, or at least a sign as to what to do next, didn't seem out of line.
The Empire regarded us as sources of labor, money and blood for their conquests. They spread out over us like a great dark blanket, an oppressive force from which there seemed to be no escape. It was on the mind of every man and woman to find some way to live life as free people again, as once all had been.
When this revolutionary, this rabble-rouser, this terrorist, as the authorities called him, this builder came, no one noticed, at first. But he developed the habit of preaching to people, and people began to follow him. Soon vast multitudes gathered to hear him speak. Many went away with a new intent, to make the world a better place. When word of that reached the authorities, the builder was marked for death.
Today they hung him. Well, crucified him, nailing him to a large wooden cross atop a hill of skulls. He hung beside two thieves, and they all died slowly. After the authorities had decided that the hanged men were dead enough, their bodies were brought down, and given burial. It seemed that all the hopes of all the people in the world were buried with them. Still, there was a spark. Anger and sorrow, determination and an irrepressible desire for a better world fanned that spark into a flame, and that flame became a righteous conflagration that spread all over the world. Where the carpenter once exhorted and inspired us, we now inspired and exhorted each other. There was, at last, something new in the air.
We could only hope and pray that the better angels of our nature would prevail, and that some day, there might be justice and fellow-feeling guiding the world, and not greed and lust for power. If we are to believe the builder, that is up to us. And so, despite the terrible nature of the events of this day, we call it Good Friday.

I was looking at the links you have for my paintings. How cool! Thank you. I'd forgotten I'd posted some of those:)
Have you started more on your book, yet?

You're welcome, friend OWL. Thanks for painting them.
I'm stuck on getting a new, closed, proprietary website where I own the copyright without question. Stay tuned. Please. Thanks.
