Sinclair Fires Too-Ethical Reporter

Jon Leiberman was the Washington bureau chief for Sinclair News. Seems this award-winning professional journalist was uncomfortable with the pressure being put on him by his television news organisation's right-wing corporate owners, the Sinclair Broadcast Group. They wanted him to make a virulently anti-Kerry movie look like legitimate news. And they only gave him a few days to do it in. When he objected, he was ignored. When he spoke out publicly, he was fired, escorted from his office, cut off and denied all benefits and severance pay. Sinclair also refused to lift a contractual ban on competition in their markets, meaning that the reporter, a twenty-nine year old family man, cannot get work anywhere in the country that Sinclair has a competing TV station. Sinclair controls almost 25% of the entire US television market. You may be watching them right now. Don't.
