Dancing At Golgatha

No, it's not a Broadway show. The King of Siam* has abdicated, in favour of a ballet dancer. The ailing King Norodom Sihanouk, 81, who is out of favour (due to his wry political blog) with former Khmer Rouge killer and current Cambodian prime minister Hun Sen, is stepping aside in favour of his son, Prince Norodom Sihamoni, 51 (never married, no kids) Hun Sen's own pick. The PM calls the new king relatively pliant. ("I'm a top, he's a bottom.")

Who knew Hun Sen was a ballet fan? He's a real renaissance mass-murderer, I guess. So, the new king may be one of that rarest of beings, an heterosexual male ballet dancer. Or not. Still waiting to hear from John Kerry. The Prince did say he doesn't know Mary Cheney, though; nor does he know whether SHE thinks she was born gay. Well, it's good to see Kampuchea back on the road to sanity. Now, if they could only find Spalding Gray.

*[OK, so it's Angkor, not Siam: But Siam -Thailand- used to be a part of the Kingdom of Angkor, many years ago; and later, part of Angkor was under Siamese control; and then there's Annam -Vietnam- which was also part of Angkor and tried to run Angkor -Cambodia- for a while, recently. But they all have those cats, I think. Delicious animals. And then there's Anna...]
