Will Democracy Come To Palestine?

Will the other asshole, Sharon, allow it? Will Bush pressure him, or encourage democratic Palestinians? No, and no. Here's another reason not to vote for Bush: He will do what he's done in this conflict for four years: Nothing.

This is the real source of our terrorist troubles: Bush's refusal to do ANYTHING to help resolve the Arab-Israeli situation, unlike EVERY President since 1948, including his own father, Bush The First. Oh, that and the Bush family's lust for oil, at any cost. So, if you're still clueless as to WHY 9/11 happened, to the good old USA, here's yer clue.

Under Bush, we've seen the gradual Israelification of America, at home and abroad. And that's how the world, not just the Arabs, sees us. Every day everybody in the world sees back-to-back news stories on TV: European-looking Israeli's killing Arabs in their US tanks and helicopters, in their US-style uniforms, with their US-made m-16's.

The next story shows European-looking Americans using all the same stuff, in similar uniforms, killing Arabs. In both stories, many of the victims are innocent civilians; men, women and children, who just happen to look Arab. Turn down the sound on your TV: All you see is white men killing Arabs. And that's all the world sees.

Meanwhile, back in the States, we now feature Israeli-style airport security, including racial profiling. OK, it's not QUITE as bad as in Israel itself. But it's getting there. Most of those caught up in Homeland Security sweeps have been Arabs, or people mistaken forArabs, and most of them have been let go, for lack of evidence of any serious terrorist crimes.

Most of those who ever got to court, anyway. Who knows how many are still rotting in a cell, God-knows-where? Not their friends, families, or attorneys; who are not allowed to see them. And the world sees that, too.

So, how long before the rage boils over? How long before the first airline hijacking, car-bombing, or kidnapping, right here in the good old USA? How long before the guy next to you in the pizzeria explodes, killing everyone in the joint? How long before the same thing happens on your bus or commuter train? How long before one of Bush's unbanned assault weapons, or some of the hundreds of tons of explosives Bush lost in Iraq, kills your brother, sister, mother, father, son, daughter? How long before you ask, why ME?

In Israel, it took about a generation. Twenty years after the Palestinian Holocaust, when many were murdered, and more were forced off their own ancestral lands, their villages destroyed and their property confiscated, Western planes started getting hijacked. That failed. Twenty years later, general uprisings, and suicide bombings became commonplace in Israel.

Twenty years after that? Nukes are loose, thanks to Reagan and the Bushes. They could show up in Tel Aviv, or London, or New York. It's only been ten years since Bush The First invaded Iraq. And we've already had 9/11. Things are moving faster, these days. Except in Israel, the source of all the trouble.

Sure, you don't understand any of this. How is Kerry going to be any different? Easy. He'll just do what EVERY other President EXCEPT Dubya has done: Try. Something. Now. So, fuck your confusion. Just vote for Kerry. Or, as Cheney says, they WILL get you.
