GOT A NICE RING TO IT, EH?

It May Just Be That There's A LOT In A Name.

The Rooskies and Chicoms, et al, fugged up communism forever. Nobody will ever give it a chance, after what they did to it.

But look at Russian "democracy." Or Chinese "capitalism." They could fug up a wet-dream!

Socialism is not communism. They're bitter enemies, in Europe; pretty much always have been. Don't confuse, or try to conflate the two. The closet-nazis in this country have managed to drag our entire discourse so far to the right, that the center looks like the left to them.

We have to educate the voters on issues that concern them, and solutions that will never come from the Right. Liberalism and Socialism are actually opponents in Europe. But they could work well in providing good, workable, liveable solutions in this country. People here just have to learn what the terms actually mean, pragmatically, in daily life.

Socialism has been working just fine for many years, in Western Europe. England, France, Italy, Germany and other nations in Europe have all had some degree of socialism since World War Two, and they live better, and longer, as a result. We should try it.

Why let conservative bugaboos and boogeymen deter us from say, socialized medicine? Or universal free public education, from preschool right through grad school? It could all be done in a distinctly American way, with minimal intrusion into our private lives, maximum flexibility, and full involvement of the private sector.

Big biz could even make a buck on it. And they'll benefit by having better educated, healthier workers, lower costs and more upscale consumers. Win-win-win.

American Socialism: What's wrong with that? Let's hear some actual, practical conservative arguments, not the usual litany of Very Bad Words, like "GODLESS" and "BIG GUMMINT." No ideological/ theological blather.

Americans are a practical people. Moderate, mixed-economy socialism has some good, practical solutions to many of our most intractable problems. Lord knows, the conservatives have no answers on health care or public education, except to destroy it, or sell it off to Big Biz; which is just fascism, and totally unworkable.

How 'bout we call it "AMERICANISM," start a whole new chapter here. So, crypto-nazis, any logical objections to a free-market socialist approach in this country? Specifically, what are they?

Americanism. Who could be against that?
