GRAND SLAM FOR NEXT PREZ'S TEAM?
THE NATIONAL PAST-TIME
Sports Following Politics?
Will it be Boston, Massachusetts versus Houston, Texas in the World Series? Ironic that one of the accursed Boston Red Sox's few shots at baseball's biggest prize comes in the very year when Massachusetts' favorite son has the State's best shot at the biggest political prize, the White House, since John F. Kennedy. (Thank God Dallas doesn't have a team! Or do they?)
Will the New Englanders whup ass in shit-kicker territory? Will Boston fans do their city proud in Houston, or will there be "incidents"? Might it be better for the political race to have the St. Louis Cardinals take the National League pennant, and bring the games to hotly contested Missouri? Will I ever write about sports again? Prolly not.

BUSH FIGHTING TERROR???
TIME FOR A REALITY CHECK
OK, let's forget for a moment that it was Dubya who ignored all the warnings, and let 9/11 happen. (Let's assume his own people didn't do it, too.) Hey, forget that Dubya was completely out of the loop on September 11th, and still nowhere to be found, or heard, until late on September 12th, 2001. Hey, we were all scared, and some of us may have been feeling guilty, too. Fahgeddaboutit!
And let's try and forget that Bush skimped on the hunt for Osama Bin Laden in Afghanistan, and diverted troops to Iraq, where he knew, or should have known, there was no real immediate threat to the US. Hey, let's be generous and forget the growing threat from terrorism, now world-wide, inspired and enflamed by Bush's actions in Iraq, and his hands-off policies in Israel and Palestine.
Wow, this is a lot of forgetting here! Can we still forget the bumbling, stumbling set-up of homeland security? OK, OK! But, should we really forget that our airports, seaports, rail lines, freeways, bridges, tunnels, nuclear plants, chemical factories, biological labs, hospitals, schools, playgrounds, parks, malls, reservoirs and water systems, international borders, major cities and towns are STILL hardly any more secure now than they were on 9/10/01? So, tell me again, I forget: Why are you voting for Dubya? Did you forget your BRAINS???
