LIBERATED LADIES, DRAMA QUEENS & HARD-WORKIN' WOMEN WRITERS

Sometimes It's Hard To Be A Woman; Sometimes It Kinda Looks Like Fun!

This month The American La Cosa Nostradamus Foundation For The Advancement Of Blog People And Their Blogs, TALCNFFTAOBPATB for short, pronounced: "TALCNFFTAOBPATB," is proud to announce a new category in the Cosie Awards: Women. This new and rising group is taking the world by storm, and promises to have a great future. If the whole "woman" thing works out, we might be willing to try some other genders.

In the meantime, these are great blogs by great ladies who just happen to be female, not that there's anything wrong with that. Every day, or once in a while they will enlighten, amuse and/ or enrage you with their wit, witticisms, and yes, wisdom, though not all of them are Latina's, thank Gawd says Jeff Sessions!

We should all consider ourselves fortunate to have so many brilliant femmes blogging these days, working tirelessly to remove the stain on their gender's reputation smeared there by the excremental Michelle Malkin, Ann Coulter, Peggy Noonan and Maureen Dowd, who might otherwise leave you with the impression that all women in the media, like so many of the men, are right-wing *ssh*les, when the reverse is true. Read 'em and weep, laugh, scream, nod your head in wise accord, but read them.

III. JULY 09 COSIES

SUZIE-Q
"Iran Election Riots: Gunmen Open Fire"
' 2:19 PM ET — More details from Reuters. “Iran’s hardline Islamic Basij militiamen killed at least one person on Monday and wounded more when their building was attacked by demonstrators protesting an election they say was stolen by President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad.” '

PAM'S HOUSE BLEND
"Joe the Plumber...er, scribe(?!)"
' Honest to god, how soon will "Joe the Plumber: Fighting for the American Dream" hit the bargain bin? You know some conservative think tank will buy a buttload of copies to give away to pump up the sales, but I seriously doubt the teabaggers are going to line up to read this ghostwritten POS. WingNutDaily's fawning coverage reads like a parody, however we did get an idea of Joe's relationship with the Man Upstairs and politics. '

WILLPEN'S WORLD
"So Sarah cut and ran…"
' I don’t know if I am shocked or not by this newest game that Sarah Palin is playing. After thinking about this for a day it seems to me that Sarah Palin’s life is basically one game after another. It’s almost as if she does this to prove something to herself. It is obvious that the woman is suffering from some sort of Narcissistic disorder which I am sure can be found in DSM IV. '

THE MUDFLATS
"Palin’s Health Care Priorities and Alaska’s Daughters"
' Today, Lisa Demer of the Anchorage Daily News has broken a story that adds another scandal to the growing list of scandals that have plagued this administration, and shines the light on Alaska’s very own health care crisis. Demer’s story centers on the horrendous condition of the Alaska’s state programs that are designed to help its most vulnerable citizens, the elderly and disabled. '

WEST VIRGINIA FUR AND ROOT
"Lilac or Lavender (but not purple)"
' Of late, I am not accustomed to things going according to plan. It’s been so bad that I’ve taken to saying that I’m bad at planning. Although properly executed with the appropriate preparation and diligence, things go awry. And nothing goes awry like paint. I have painting stories that’ll curl your stir sticks. Really. While nothing will ever top the Great Tibetan Red Saga, there was the Moose Mousse episode and it’s probably best if I don’t go into the Homestead Antique Cameo story. The Cerulean Blue master bath was not an unmitigated disaster, but it also didn’t end up as expected. I am so scarred by these episodes, coupled with some trauma from my youth, I am afraid of color. So. Imagine my surprise when this past January I started thinking about painting the office at my place of employment lavender. '

NOVEMBER FIFTH
"Baby Steps"
' Emma is slowly climbing out of a hard crash right now. At her vet appointment Monday her blood-work showed she is severely anemic. After an iron injection and several hours with the vet, he sent her home and was cautiously hopeful about the chances she will respond to the new medication we are going to be injecting her with three days a week for the foreseeable future (the same stuff I used when I had cancer a number of years ago, oddly) to help boost her red blood cell count. She could barely walk Monday... Tom and I are both taking this very hard. I "slept" out near the closet where she has been staying for the last several days. '

MUSINGS OF A WANDERING ELF
"Too Lazy to Read? Then Shut Your Pie Hole!"
' That's the best advice that I can give to the deluded masses that insist on deluging our Senate today with calls, emails and letters imploring our elected officials to vote NO on the "Pedophile Protection Act." What, you didn't know that the Senate was going to vote on the "Pedophile Protection Act" this week? Well, then consider yourself more intelligent than Focus on the Family's James Dobson who has also referred to S. 909, commonly known as the Matthew Shepard Act, as "utter evil." Certain so-called "Christian" commentators and general muck-stirrers will have you believe that S. 909 is an attack on Christianity. Yea, they will even have you buy into the notion that it will criminalize Christianity! Come again? '
