HAWAII DEBATING THE DEBATES

.
PUNAHOU SCHOOL ON TRIAL: WAS LITTLE BARRY PROPERLY PREPARED FOR DEBATING IN THE BIG-TIME?

HAWAIIANS, ER, LOCAL PEOPLE, UH, KAMA'AINA, MM, EVERYBODY HERE IGNORES DEBATES

"First 2008 Presidential Debate (Full Video)"

Eh, Brah, Aloha Fridays, Da Kine, Yeah?

Most people were still at work when the debates went off at 3pm Hawaii Standard Time, GMT-10. By nine o'clock Friday night, most of us were just wrapping our shopping or dining out, or just beginning our celebration of another week survived in "Paradise."

Only a few of us were paying attention to the lackluster, already-been-chewed gabfest on all the major 'Nets. At least, we taped or TiVoed it, with the intention of paying attention at some future date when there is absolutely nothing else to do, like alphabetise our DVDs, or look up MILF on the Internets.

I watched PBS on tape, hoping for less graphics, no scrolling, and no reminders of what a great service some corporation was doing me, the buying public, by dedicating two hours of their free public airwave time to public service once every four years. Besides, PBS is more boring, and this is a boring landmark. Or landfill.

From a Hawaii point of view, local boy Obama showed aloha, humility, honesty and respect for our kapuna, all important ohana values here in the Asian-Pacific region. Plus, he wasn't all white.

McCain was extremely white. He acted like a stereotypical big dumb f*cking haole: He showed no aloha, no humility, no honesty and no respect. He refused to even look at Obama, and kept saying that the Harvard grad "didn't understand" what were, to McCain at least, important points.

The fact that all of his "important points" were tired old Bush lies and Republican campaign misrepresentations became way obvious after McSame repeated them all about a hundred times each. He also seemed to have an unhealthy affection for General Betrayus, and kept mooning over him, seemingly upset that Obama didn't share his puppy love for the commander of the debacle in Iraq.

Barack failed to deliver a knock-out punch. He didn't really need to, after McCain's last two weeks of gaffes and goofs, and Republican disasters at home and abroad. McCain didn't punch well, either, unless you call constant rude interruptions, a snide, hostile, arrogant demeanor, and bald-faced lying a punch. Only the hard-core delusional Repukelickin's will have been won over, and they were already on the McKoolaid.

I'd say Obama won with undecided Independents and wavering Democrats and Republicans. He made the most and the best valid points. More importantly, he seemed like a guy you could trust with his finger on the twin triggers of War and Depression.

John Sydney McBush III just seemed like more of the same old sh*t, only crustier: An arrogant, nasty old fool you just couldn't do business with, and wouldn't want to. He lost.
